Bernardita Dittus

Professional Experience

Bernardita has over 20 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation, as well as in domestic and international arbitration. She has represented clients in complex disputes involving the protection and enforcement of copyright and related rights, trademark infringement, patents and other industrial property rights, unfair competition, among others.

She specializes in providing comprehensive counsel for the protection of intangible assets, including strategic registration, contractual strategies and the enforcement of rights against infringement.

Bernardita also served as Deputy Director of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Appellations of Origin at Chile’s National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI).

In addition to her active litigation practice, Bernardita serves as an arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CAM Santiago) and at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

She began her career at Alessandri y Compañía (2004–2012). She subsequently joined Carey, where she established and developed the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice (2013–2019).

Bernardita also teaches at universities in Chile and abroad and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and seminars.
