J.D. from Universidad de Chile (Summa cum laude), LL.M. in International Law and International Relations from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Summa cum laude). She specializes in civil and commercial litigation as well as domestic and international arbitration. Arbitrator of the Court of Appeals of Santiago and the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (AJ CAM Santiago).

For over 10 years, Carla has represented and defended high-profile clients in trials before civil courts and arbitral tribunals, both national and international (Ad hoc, CAM Santiago, ICC). She advises in diverse matters, including energy and construction industries, as well as in conflicts related to corporate law, real estate law and unfair competition, among others.

She began her career in 2010 as a lawyer at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, one of the leading institutions in Latin America. In 2013, she joined the Disputes Resolution team of the former law firm Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana (BMAJ).

Having completed her Master’s Degree in International Law and International Relations at the Complutense University of Madrid (2016-2017), she returned to Chile and rejoined BMAJ, becoming a partner of the firm in 2021.

After the dissolution of BMAJ, she joined the newly-founded firm Jana & Gil Dispute Resolution as a partner, and continued advising and representing clients in arbitration and highly complex litigation until early 2023.

In 2023 Carla was distinguished as a “Next Generation Partner” in the Dispute Resolution category, by the prestigious publication The Legal 500, as well as “Rising Star” by the same publication during the 2020 and 2021 issues. She has also been recognized by the publication “Best Lawyers in Chile” in the Arbitration and Mediation category in the years 2020, 2021 and 2022, and named a member of the Board of Experts of the Chilean Bar Association in the area of Civil and Commercial Litigation in the year 2021.
